MB6IGK C4FM Fusion WiRES X Internet Gateway

The MB6IGK RF/Internet Gateway into the WiRES X Fusion C4FM network on 434.0375 MHz is still up and running over weekends and during weekday evenings.

It automatically connects up to the CQ-UK room run by Stuart M0SGS (thanks Stu! :) ), but can be manually redirected to connect to other Repeaters/Gateways/Nodes, or Rooms by any Fusion digital capable radio.

CQ-UK is proving to be a popular room on the Yaesu Fusion WiRES X network, as can be seen from the latest screen capture from my Gateway software. It's currently the fourth busiest 'room' in the world!

In addition to the 29 Repeaters/Gateways, and Nodes listed in the pop-out window, there are also a number of inter-connected links to the DMR network and D-Star Hotspot nodes. This all makes for a pretty busy room. Please remember to leave a long breath pause at the beginning and end of each over, this allows the network to sync everybody, and it makes sure no audio is lost.

  2. Hi Brian,

My Gateway has an 'attended operation only' NoV, so I have to be 'in attendance' for the Gateway to be switched on.

If my one is off, you might want to try the now multi-mode MMDVM MB6NK on 144.825. It's located in Hoo, about a mile from me. It currently operates in Fusion/D-Star/DMR mode.

Also, have you seen the newest info on firmware upgrades for the FT2D, FTM-100, FTM-400?

You can now directly connect them to a PC (without a HRI-200!) to enable direct internet connection to the Fusion network. You don't need two radios to operate from your desk anymore, you just talk into the radio connected to the internet! The only limitation on it is that you cant operate as a gateway or operate as a conference room without the HRI-200, you can just connect to other rooms or individuals.

    Hope that helps.

    Jon
